Widen My Window of Tolerance

It is important to be aware of my window of tolerance. This will let me know when I am starting to experience signs of anxiety. By widening my window of tolerance, I can reduce the chances of experience symptoms of anxiety. By expanding my balanced state I tolerate more of what triggers my anxiety.

Your therapist can help you identify what triggers your anxiety and try to manage those specifically. In addition, you can rebalance yourself and widen your window of tolerance on your own. Practicing meditation, listening to music, or engaging in a hobby or sport/physical activity are great ways you can widen your window of tolerance.

Everyone reacts differently therefore it is important for you to find what works for you. Start with what you enjoy doing and go from there. What helps to keep you relaxed and calm.
